CALL TO ORDER
- Meeting was called to order by Dorothea Carter, President, 
at 12:15 pm.

OPENING PRAYER
- The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College Prayer
by,  Virginia Turner Dowell C'47

INTRODUCTION OF OLD AN NEW SISTERS
- new sisters' names can be called in to Dorothea Carter or 
e-mailed to Kymberly D. Riggins

REPORTS
	
OLD BUSINESS
- meetings on 3rd Saturday of each month
- successful Christmas Party

NEW BUSINESS
- Brookhollow Church will be having "College Day" on January 22 
	and volunteers were invited to attend

- Takiyah and Dorothy are on the telephone committee to remind 
	sisters of upcoming events

- community service ideas were discussed.  Takiyah will contact 
	Tiffany, Community service chair, with additional ideas.  
	We will bring clothes to the next meeting to donate to 
	Star of Hope.  Tiffany will contact us about the February 
	community service event.

- suggestions to keep members interested in participating in the 
	chapter:
	* link from the Spelman web site
	* "buddy-sister" for new sisters (link newcomers with 
		current members based on common interest, area 
		of town, etc...)
- Takiyah will occasionally contact members with social/networking 
	opportunities

- the chapter will possibly purchase business cards to give to 
	prospective members

- dues campaign is April 1 -June 30 for the fiscal year starting 
	July 1.  Any dues paid before April 1 are for the CURRENT 
	YEAR.

- Renee' Hicks will be the Publicity Chair for the year

- the next meeting will be on 2/19/00 (possibly at the Fusion Cafe')
