Immediately afterwards will be the Sisterhood Brunch at Cafe Noche' ($17.50 for adults and $9.50 for kids includes gratuity, meal, and non-alcoholic drinks.) - Reminder Letters will be going out for members to pay dues for fiscal year 2000-2001. Dues (National and Local) for fiscal year 2000-2001 will be collected from April 1, 2000 - June 30, 2000. Any dues paid before April 1 are for the CURRENT YEAR. ($50 National, $25 Local) - NAASC-Houston Chapter Constitution and By-Laws are being created by Attorney Angela Cox, C'81 - The Chapter Phone list was distributed. Contact Takiyah Roberts, takiyahroberts@hotmail.com, for any corrections or additions. - Community Service Project, Saturday March 25, 2000 at the Open Door Mission, a shelter for homeless men, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.. Contact Tiffany Mayo, Community Development Chairperson, for more information. tmayo@ect.enron.com Directions and a reminder will be emailed later on this week. - We are still in need of a sister to attend the Inter-Alumni Council meetings to act as a liason between our chapter and the Council. They meet every 3rd Thursday at 6:00 p.m.. Contact Dorothea if you are intersted. dcarter@vanguardproperties.com - Fundraising time at the Ensemble Theatre. * The play is scheduled for Sunday, July 9, 2000 at 3:00 p.m.. * The play is titled "Bourbon At The Border", and is written by our very own, Pearl Cleage. * The cost for the play and the brunch at 1:00 is $35.00 * Tickets will be distributed during the Sisterhood Brunch on April 9, 2000. The first due date for the money will be on June 1st. The final due date for the money will be at our June 17th meeting. Only take the tickets you know you'll be able to sell. * Denise also suggested that we offer those who would like to support the event but don't want to attend an opportunity to purchase a ticket for a Jasa House woman. * Denise suggested we hold a silent auction. Dorothea will check with the Ensemble to make sure it is okay and get back with us. NEW BUSINESS - Ideas on monetary gift to Spelman. * We decided to use the proceeds from the silent auction (if we have one) to go towards a specific donation to Spelman, i.e. a new pew in Sisters' Chapel. * We would also like to give a monetary gift to the NAASC since they are operating in the hole. - NAASC-Houston Chapter summer gathering and canned good drive * We're thinking of having the June meeting as a type of family potluck picnic outing for the members and their family. At some point during the outing we have a meeting. NEXT MEETING INFO The April meeting will not be held due to our Founder's Day Events. The May meeting will be held on May 20, 2000. Place: TBA
