Recruitment Season
	Dorothea thanked everybody who particpated
	in recuritment season.  The following 
	comments were made regarding followup 
	on recruitment. S
	  * She made a point that in the future, if 
	you can not make a college fair, even after 
	agreeing to do it, you should contact the 
	recruitment chair so plans can be made to 
	cover your spot.
	  * If you have left over recruitment 
	materials, please give them to Dorothea.
	  * If you still have filled out cards 	
	please send them to the Admission's 
	office at Spelman.

Morehouse School Daze Dance 
	The dance was scheduled for Saturday, 
	November 13, 1999, but no word has 
	been heard regarding that.  We assume 
	the dance is off.

Pot Luck Christmas Party
	The Christmas Party is scheduled for 
	Saturday, December 11, 1999 (6:00 - 9:00 p.m.) 
	at the home of Angela Cox.  A signup sheet 
	was passed around.  The chapter will sponsor 
	the Ham and the Turkey.  Please bring all food 
	and drink on time.

Holiday Community Service
	It was decided that we will contribute 
	to the Jassah (sp?) house and to the 
	Angel Tree project.  Denise Duvernay 
	will be the contact for that.  Watch 
	your email inboxes for more information.

	Our next community service project is 
	scheduled for Saturday, November 20, 1999 
	from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.. Tiffany Mayo 
	is in charge of that. Watch your email

Telephone Committee
	Takiyah agreed to take over the position of 
	Telephone Committee chair since Dorothy is 
	expecting. 

Dorothy's Baby Shower
	Dorothy Muhammad's baby shower is on 
	Saturday, November 20, 1999.  Watch your 
	email inboxes for more information. 

Chapter donates money to Hartman Middle School student
	Hartman Middle School, where Omah 
	Williams (c/o 97) teaches at, is sponsoring 
	a car wash for one of their students who has 
	ovarian cancer.  The chapter donated $42 
	for the effort.

Future Meetings
	In an effort to decrease the costs of the mailouts 
	conerning the upcoming meetings, we will plan a 
	6-month calender with meeting dates, times and 
	places and send that out.  Email messages will be
	sent out to remind and make updates.  This will 
	start in February 2000.

Fundraising
	Takiyah is working on getting our fundraising 
	sponsored by companies.  If you know of any companies 
	who would be willing to do that, contact Takiyah 
	(takiyah44@yahoo.com).  She is also working on 
	getting the Spelman Jazz Ensemble to come to Houston 
	for Spring 2000.
	
Life Insurance Protector
	The topic of buying life insurance to insure yourself 
	if you get sick.  Contact Dorothea 
	(dcarter@vanguardproperties.com) for more information.

New Year's Party
	Genora Boykins and Venise Richardson are throwing a New 
	Year's Party.  Information about the cost, time, and 
	location, will be sent to you in the mail.
